The AIDS Memorial Quilt in Washington, D.C.
The AIDS Memorial Quilt's service to humanity takes many forms. In the Summer of 2004, it took shape on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. (a.k.a. ‘the president's backyard').
Annie got a call six weeks before the already-scheduled appearance: "Can you produce this event?" Her answer: "Yes. Of course. Absolutely." There was never any doubt and it was a privilege to be a part of this important project.
The display included more than 8,000 panels containing more than 13,000 names. Scheduled to coincide with National HIV Testing Day to maximize audience and exposure, more than 10,000 people visited the Quilt during the four-day event.
